What I Ate Wednesday + First big baby purchase!

I realized that I hadn’t done a What I Ate Wednesday post in awhile. Oops. Hence why I am being proactive and writing it the day before. 😀

My mornings have been starting a little earlier due to crazy island traffic. Just to show you how these one-lane roads can infuriate the tranquilest of minds:

These are one of the main roads home and it kills me every time. This is a narrow one lane for a T-intersection that offers no light or stop sign for opposing traffic. There are cars coming from both sides and we just have to wish for the best when we make that horrific left turn. Gah!

Back to my eats for today: The morning started off with a iced soy coffee with 2 granny smith apples smothered with cinnamon and Justin’s almond butter. These days I have to get my fair share of carbs+fat+protein to feel satisfied and feel okay.

Lunch was probably not the best but I was running late and grabbed whatever I saw thawing in the fridge. I remember seeing these @ Costco too. It was yummy. 🙂

Couldn’t finish the Diet Coke though for some reason…… Honestly? It was giving me gas.

I had some unsalted almonds mixed in with some delicious Trader Joe’s Honey Sesame Almonds as my snack throughout the day. I’m so glad I brought back 2 bags with me!

Dinner: Paul and I had chicken breast with munster cheese, lemony asparagus and basmati rice. Everything was simply seasoned with salt, black pepper and a whole lemon. My belly was happy.

And for our first big baby purchase…

This is originally less than $100 in the states. We bought it on the island and it was closer to $250. RIDICULOUS!!!

What I Ate Wednesday + Self-Image Rant

We officially moved into our new rented condo on Monday night. It took us more than 3 trips but it was all worth it because we’re more than enthused to call this abode our new home. I’ll update and post pictures in a future post. 🙂

Besides the place being freakin’ awesome, it takes much longer to get to work. We used to live only 5 minutes away from work; now, it takes us 20 minutes on a good day. This island is still being developed but until then, we have to deal with streets with only one lane going each direction. I don’t even want to touch the subject of accidents on these streets. Traffic ultimately stops until the insurance companies come and report their findings.

Here I am. Patiently waiting for the car in front of me to stop letting a multitude of cars cut in front of us. >: (

My face shape closely resembles actress, Olivia Wilde. I have always hated my long & square jaw since I was a child. When I was 7 years old I remember one of my uncles remarking that I would be beautiful if I didn’t have such a large jaw. I had no idea that I did until then. 😦  In the 10th grade, I even asked my mom if I could get jaw surgery to get my jaw sawed down. This can actually be done. A lot of Korean actresses get this done since Korean women usually have high cheekbones and square jaws. While most girls grappled with their weight, I was constantly hating the shape of my face.

Honestly, I still haven’t come to full terms with it but I think I’m almost there. It’s my face. God made me this way. I was suppose to look like this. My large square jaw supports my gigantic head. 😛 And without it, I would look like an alien with a large head & a pointy chin. If Olivia Wilde is fine with hers and people call her a classic beauty, I can’t be that far off, right? 🙂

Back to my day…

Do you see what I see? 2 things: Yes. He seemed to have written out his license plate number with a black marker & taped it. And yes. That is island traffic.

Breakfast: Starbucks grande soy latte. Green grapes. Watermelon. Also sneaked in some unsalted saltines as a snack around 10.

Lunch: Apple cinnamon oatmeal. I didn’t know it was gluten-free & wheat-free. Let’s just say that it tasted very natural. Whatever that’s suppose to mean. 😉

Snacks: Baybel cheese. Copious amounts of whole grain cheddar goldfish crackers. And it’s not pictured but 1/2 a blueberry bagel sans cream cheese. Also had a rather large bite of Paul’s ice cream sandwich. 😛

Dinner: Tofu & veggie stir fry with Tabasco.

After dinner snack of sugary cereal. It tastes like Cap’n Crunch but it’s called something else. I love cereal!

What I Ate Wednesday

I was craving a latte since yesterday so I promptly headed over to Starbucks and ordered a tall nonfat latte. Honestly, it wasn’t what I was craving. I think I wanted a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee. I managed to only finish half of it by the time I left work in the afternoon. Oh well. Too much caffeine isn’t good for me anyway.

With it, I had my usual 2 diced granny smith apples with Justin’s Almond Butter. I squealed when I saw their almond butter at our Caribbean supermarket! Who would have thunk?! I grabbed the last remaining two jars…

For lunch, I had 7 yummy boiled pork & leek dumplings lightly drenched in soy sauce & white vinegar (3:1 ratio). I also inhaled a bag of jalapeno kettle chips. By the time I remembered to take a picture, it was gone. Oops.

After I came back from a 30 minute elliptical session, I went to town and had a gazillion mandarins and handfuls of blueberries and blackberries. Can you tell that we went to the supermarket today? 😛

And whatever you do, I highly recommend you to NOT buy the following product. I bought it a few months ago and threw it out the next day. It tasted awful but the SMELL! The smell reminded me of old, rotting cardboard. I tried to give some to a homeless cat but she alas walked away as well. I had to throw it out the next day because the cupboard that it was contained in REEKED of it. I agree with them. Mary has gone crackers.

And as for dinner, I was craving cereal so I had 2 gigantic bowls of Cherrios with 2 cups of unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Yum! Also, a boiled egg.

At the moment, I’m eating more mandarins as I re-watch Girls Next Door: Season 1. I enjoyed this show in college and I still enjoy it. Who was your favorite? Kendra had the best body but I prefer Bridget. She has a cute charm about her. 🙂
